Our client is a leading global investment bank with a long established and growing presence in the Middle East, and a strategic focus on the Middle Eastern and North African region. This Middle Eastern based division provides investment banking advisory services, and in conjunction with the head office is developing activities across sales & trading, asset management and private wealth management.

An opportunity has been created for a senior lawyer to take on a lead role with overall responsibility for legal and risk management within the business covering investment banking including M&A, Debt and Capital Markets transactions, investment management, private wealth management and sales & trading. There will also be a significant amount of internal advisory work.

As a cross-border, advisory role this position will involve considerable communication and co-ordination with colleagues across different locations globally.

The successful candidate will be fluent in both Arabic and English, with a proven track record of providing advice on corporate finance transactions both in the Middle East and North African region and abroad. You will have knowledge of both local law and applicable foreign law (US/UK) equivalents. With training from a leading private practice and ideally in-house experience at a senior level with a comparable financial institution, you will be technically first class, with a solutions focused approach.

This role will offer the chance for a capable and committed lawyer to take on a pivotal role in an area of strategic importance to the development and growth of one of the world’s leading banks.
